2011 Circuit Team Rules Amendment: [Effective 1/15/2011]
Anglers who have guided on Kentucky Lake or Barkley Lake, have accepted money for fishing services on Kentucky Lake or Barkley Lake or have paid a tournament entry fee of $600 or more in 2009/2010/2011 will not be eligible to enter or compete at the 2011 Classic. This will be verified by Polygraph/VSA.
Kentucky Lake Regulations For the Classic we will use the state guidelines for Kentucky Lake as our guidelines for our tournament.

2011 TUBFC CLASSIC TEAM RULES
The following rules governing the 2011 Season Classic will be interpreted solely by the tournament director. The Director reserves the right to reject any entry if he feels that it is not in the best interest of the TUBFC tournament trail. Any violation of these rules, Dept. of Conservation or State Water Patrol regulations shall be reason for disqualification and possible rejection from all future events. Entry forms must be completely filled out and signed by BOTH contestants. Any announcements made by the Tournament Director at the tournament site shall take precedent over written rules. KNOWLEDGE OF THESE RULES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH CONTESTANT. Failure to read these rules or ignorance of them is no excuse. The decision of the Tournament Director shall be final in all matters.
OFF-LIMITS PERIOD: The tournament location of Kentucky & Barkley Lakes will be off limits between the March 1st at 12:01am thru March 18th at 11:59pm and March 29th at 3:00pm until tournament hours. No teams may be on the tournament waters scouting or fishing during these time periods. Failure to meet these requirements could result in disqualification!
OFFICAL PRACTIC PERIOD: Official practice begins March 19th at 12:01am continuing until March 29th at 3:00pm. Official Practice means that no one other than your team member, other competing member, or with TUBFC approval a member of your immediate family is allowed in the boat with any angler wishing to participate in the event. This eliminates the use of guides for the days immediately prior to the event. Failure to follow these rules during the practice period will result in disqualification from the event.
ELIGIBILITY: All teams qualifying for or drawn as a wildcard for the Classic are eligible to fish and compete at the 2011 Classic. A parent or legal guardian must accompany any one under 18 years of age. Membership is required to fish the TUBFC Classic. Teams consist of a maximum of 2 anglers per boat. Anglers who have guided on Kentucky Lake or Barkley Lake, have accepted money for fishing services on Kentucky Lake or Barkley Lake or have paid a tournament entry fee of $600 or more in 2009/2010/2011 will not be eligible to enter or compete at the 2011 Classic.
ENTRY FEE: Tournament entry fee is $210 per team, which includes Big Bass and the Paris Landing State Park tournament fee. A deposit of $60 along with a completed entry form is required and must be received or postmarked by March 1st, 2012. All entries and deposits are non-refundable.
BIG BASS: Two (2) Big bass places will be paid with 20 entries or more. Ties will be broken by 1) total live fish weighed in, 2) heaviest total weight, 3) coin flip. In the event the teams Big bass is dead, a one (1) pound penalty will be charged to the teams Big Bass weight.
PAYBACKS: TUBFC will pay one (1) place for every six (6) teams with a paid entry into the tournament with a maximum of twenty (20) cash places being paid regardless of the number of entries. TUBFC strives to have a 100% payback Classic but angler support of sponsor locations make that possible. 90% minimum payback of all paid Classic entries.
CHECK-IN & PRE-MEETING: One (1) member of the team must attend the pre-tournament meeting March 29th, 2011 at 5:00pm at the Fishtale Lodge, Buchanan, TN. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. A final pre-tournament checklist will take place on the water approximately ten (10) minutes prior to the official start. Live well checks will take place prior to the days competition but may be also take place at anytime throughout either day of competition.
TAKE-OFF & CHECK-IN: Launch will take place at the Paris Landing State Park and will also be the official check-in and check-out area. At the end of the tournament, All Teams must check in regardless of whether they have fish to weigh or not. If you must leave the lake early you must notify the tournament director. If you have boat problems, notify the tournament director as soon as possible of the situation.
TEAM OF THE YEAR CHAMPIONS: Team of the Year Champions will receive trophies, 2 B&R Outlaw Rods along with four (4) free team entries toward the next season and will launch at boat #1 position in any divisional tournaments they enter.
POINTS: Upon completion of the tournament, each team competing for Team of the Year automatically receive points in accordance with their position. Tournament points will be dispersed according to placement, 1st Place will receive 110 points; 2nd Place – 109 points, and so on. A minimum of 50 points will be awarded to all teams checking out at the end of the tournament. Team of the Year points will consist of Day 1, Day 2 & Overall Placement. Position ties will be broken by the teams biggest Classic bass, 2) most live Classic fish weighed in, 3) teams biggest Divisional bass, 4) flip of the coin.
CLASSIC CHAMPIONS: Classic Champions will be decided by the teams 2 Day total weight and will receive trophies, two (2) B&R Outlaw Rods along with their cash/check award. Classic Champions will also get to choose their Day 1 boat position in the following years Classic.
SCORING: Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Kentucky Spotted bass will be scored. Five (5) fish limit. All lake and conservation rules apply; breaking such rules will be grounds for disqualification. Any frozen or iced fish presented for weigh-in will be grounds for issuance of a voice-stress or polygraph test and disqualification and possible denial to future events. Dead fish which have white gills will not be weighed in, and may fall under the frozen fish rule by tournament director’s decision.
TIES: Total weight ties will be broken by 1) Big Bass, 2) most live fish weighed-in, 3) day 2 weight, 4) coin flip.
PENALTIES: A short fish will result in a one (1) pound penalty plus the loss of the fish. Two (2) or more short fish will result in the days catch being being forfeited. The dead fish penalty will be one (1) pound penalty per fish. No more than five (5) fish are allowed in the live well (In possession) at any time. Anyone bringing more than five (5) fish to the weigh-in scales will not be allowed to weigh in ANY fish. All fish weighed-in become the property of TUBFC and will be released back into the water, with the exception of large trophy specimens.
PARTICIPATION & ALTERNATES: A team consists of a maximum of two (2) anglers fishing together from the same boat. If a qualified team member cannot attend the Classic, the other team member would be allowed to fish individually or with another 2011 TUBFC member with TUBFC approval.
POLYGRAPH: All contestants, by signing the official entry form, consent to receive a voice-stress or polygraph test. Tests will be given randomly at the tournament director’s discretion. Anyone who fails or refuses a TUBFC test can be immediately disqualified. Any accusation of cheating will be grounds for testing. All contestants, by signing the official entry form, also consent to having an observer put in their boat during the competition. Refusal of either of these request can be grounds for disqualification.
ALCOHOL/DRUGS: No Alcohol or Drugs will be allowed or used during tournament hours. Any teams already under the influence at morning check-in will not be allowed to compete. All contestants, by signing the official entry form, consent to receive a breathalyzer or drug test at any time if requested by tournament director. Refusing or failing a breathalyzer or drug test may be grounds for disqualification.
TOURNAMENT HOURS:Tournament hours are defined as those hours between morning check-in and weighing-in your fish, receiving an award or filing a protest. Teams which have officially weighed their fish in and have decided that they will not finish in a position to receive an award may enjoy and alcoholic refreshment unless they plan on filing a protest. Those teams receiving an award must refrain from alcoholic beverages until they have received their award. Those teams wishing to file a protest must refrain from alcoholic beverages until they have filed their protest and the matter resolved.
PROTEST: All protest must be submitted in writing to the tournament director within five (5) minutes of the weigh-in completion. In the event the accused is requested to be tested by TUBFC, the protester assumes the fees of the test should the accused pass. The decision of the Tournament Director and staff members shall be final in all maters. Any protest submitted by individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs may be omitted by the tournament director’s decision.
SPORTSMANSHIP & SAFETY: Safe fishing and boating practices are expected during tournament hours. Life jackets and the outboard kill switch must be used at all times when the boat is brought above No-Wake speed. Each contestant is expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation. No hole sitting or holding a fishing spot for another fisherman or contestants is allowed. Team members are not allowed to solicit information from others to help in their success during fishing hours.
CHECK-IN PENALTY: All teams must check in at the designated time to avoid penalties. One pound per minute, up to ten (5) minutes, then disqualification. All teams must still check in, even if the have passed the disqualification period to ensure that all contestants are safe and accounted for. Failure to check-in on day one (1) can result in disqualification for day two (2). Contacting the tournament director by phone or text message at (573) 281-8735 is a valid check in method if your team doesn’t plan to weigh-in, response by tournament director is required for this method to count.
TACKLE & EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures and pork style baits are allowed. All bass must be caught on a rod and reel. Each angler may only have one rod and reel in use at any time. Contestants may not depart the boat to fish, land fish or to make the boat more accessible to fishing waters.
BOATS & MOTORS: Any boat 14 feet or longer powered by a motor of 9.9 horsepower or more with a properly aerated livewell will be accepted. Boats powered by 15hp or above must have Kill switches installed and in good working condition. All boats must meet B.I.A. and Coast Guard requirements. No over powered boats will be accepted.
INSURANCE: Boat owners must have a minimum of $100,000 of Boating Liability Insurance. Proof of insurance man be asked for when checking in a the pre-tournament meeting or at any time during the tournament.
LOCATIONS: Anywhere on Wheeler Lake or Wilson Lake including creeks and tributaries, except: 50 yards of anther contestants anchored boat, 50 foot from any dock with a gas pump station, and any designated off limits areas, state and conservation rules apply. No trailering of the boat during tournament hours without the consent of the tournament director.
SPECIAL SITUATIONS:
RESTROOM BREAKS: In the event a member of the team requires use of a restroom facility, the team may use and commercial marina facility. Team members may depart the boat individually, use the restroom facility and immediately return to the boat. One member of the team must always remain in the boat to safe-guard the days catch. Team members are not allowed to solicit information from others to help in their success during fishing hours. No people other than the team members will be allowed in or around the boat (ten feet, 10’) during tournament hours. Failure to follow these guidelines could constitute grounds for a polygraph test and/or disqualification.
BREAKDOWN: In the event of a boat breakdown, the team may transfer their fish to another angler’s boat for transport to the weigh-in site, with the following conditions; the fish must be placed in a segregated livewell. One member of the breakdown team must accompany those fish at all times to the weigh-in site. The team broken down must stop fishing at the time of transfer. Upon arriving at the weigh-in site, the teams must notify the tournament director of the situation before removing any fish from either livewell.

We have read and understand the TUBFC Classic Tournament Rules and enclosed the completed application and our entry fee, payable to TUBFC. In signing this application, we hereby waive, and release all other contestants, sponsors, government entities and their agents, and tournament officials from all claims from injury and/or damages incurred in connection with this tournament, including but not limited to weather conditions, lake conditions, boating traffic, etc. We agree to maintain a minimum of $100,000 liability insurance on any boat we use in this TUBFC tournament. We agree to submit to any testing required by the Tournament Director and abide by the Tournament Director’s decision in all matters and agree there is not a right of appeal from their decision. Check or money order must accompany this form to qualify for tournament entry. Entry forms that are not completed in full and signed by both parties will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS.
