The July 24th tournament arrived and awoke to another blustery hot day predicted for the area. With the heat index predicted to be between 110 & 114 we are all wondering if we are going to get a break anytime soon but once again our weigh-in was bumped back (2pm).
The team of Ron Fletcher & Shane Kendall of Thompsonville & Galatia, IL brought 10.22lbs to the scales earning them 1st Place, by only by .11lbs, and an $800 payday. Ron & Shane flipped jigs and plastics to put together their limit. Congratulations Guys!
The team of Keith Bailey & Robert Wise of Simpson & Eddyville, IL fishing for Sportsmans edge & J.D. Lures followed up with 10.11lbs to the scales earning them 2nd Place and $250 ice cream money, but had a slightly bruised pride as they reported 1 fish flopping out of the net and back into the water and another coming off at the side of the boat. Non-the-Less, Congratulations Guys!
The team of Sam Grubbs & David Kent of Harrisburg, IL & fishing for Sam-Son Lures were also close to the winning team coming in 3rd with 10.01lbs but also managed to land the 4.55lb Big Bass of the tournament on a top water plug first thing in the morning earning them $150 in return. Sam & David stayed in Lusk(Sam's) Creek and fished a combination of lures throughout the day to put together their limit. Congratulations Everyone on a great tournament.
